New collections for 2015!

           -New collection for 2015-

It's been a busy few months after graduating this summer but I am very excited to be designing again for a new interiors collection. I will be exploring with dramatic and bold mark making for very soft and neutral interiors trying to achieve an interesting contrast. Its been great getting back into sketchbook designs and exploring with new techniques and I'm very excited to produce a new collection with a different look and style. It's still early days but will be posting more pictures of samples and designs very soon!

Crysalis Digital encounters competition!

Finally had the chance to go and see the digital encouters exhabition that my work is in. Had lovely feedback about this exhabition at New Designers and was really excited to see how my work was displayed.

The lay out of the Exhibition was great and all the lovely work was set up beautifully. It was really nice to see how much effort has gone into it to make sure that every designers work was displayed in the best way possible. Overall the Exhibition looked wonderful and I am so happy I had the chance to be part of it!

My work was also included in this lovely Digital encounters book that was handed out to the visitors. It included an image of the work and a small statement that was also translated into French.

Dulux Timeless "Bowler Hat"

Absolutely in love with this gorgeous paint colour "Bowler Hat" from Dulux Timeless Classics collection!

I used this particular colour for my visualisation images. The deep Grey tone created a lovely contrast and really helped my work stand out in the images. As my collection was based on Heritage and classic  traditional textiles, the bowler hat paint was perfect for achieving a sophisticated interior space and went really well with the theme of my work.

This beautiful graphite grey was inspired by the classic gentlemen's bowler hat. Dulux Timeless Classic's range has been to designed to bring saphistication and elegance to your home.

I love it! and think it was the perfect choice for my collection

New Designers 2014

This weeks has been the begging of New Designers 2014. So far it's been a really good experience. Have seen some truly amazing work and has been very interesting to get the first insight into the textile industry. The feedback has been very helpful and look forward to what's to come after the show...
It is still on till Saturday 28th of June so excited to see what else this experience could bring.

UCA Graduation Show 2014

Yesterday was the First Private show that I got to experience exhibiting my work at UCA Farnham James Hockey Gallery. It has been a long week preparing for the show but was great to see so many people attending yesterdays private show and enjoying Graduates work.

Setting Up the show

Private show 22nd of May 2014 James Hockey Gallery

My work hanging up (Second on the left)

This year the show was set up a little bit different. As we had the main Gallery space to ourselves we was required to make the show flow as a whole instead of being presented as individual pieces. therefore the printers work was paired up with weave to present the BA (Hons) Textiles course at UCA Farnham.

Overall it was a lovely show and was great to see so many people there.

Now looking forward to New designers and setting up work all over again, this time the way we want it :)

Digital Encounters Exhibition @ Canterbury

I am very excited to be exhibiting my work at Digital Encounters Exhibition at Canterbury during this summer. The brief was particular interesting to me as I have used Digital Printing as part of my revival of Indian Textiles.

My Work to be exhibited

From 20-06-2014 Till 28-07-2014
The Digital Encounters exhibition hosted by the University for the Creative Arts will be the finale of the Moving Textiles exhibition series. Works can be made in response to the Digital Encounters Symposium which considered the transformative effect of digital design and production techniques on a range of textiles practices exploring the relationship between hand crafted and digital textile techniques. Along with work inspired by the symposium works may be created in response to the question 'How do you see the future of textiles and its relationship to digital media?' Work may be produced by established professionals or up-and-coming designers from across different visual arts, using a range of media or mediums. In addition examples of work made as part of the Crysalis - the revival of textiles project, will be exhibited to celebrate the juxtaposition of digital textiles design alongside hand crafted textiles and heritage.
